Meet Kia Ahmed, MSN, CRNP, WHNP-BC

Kia Ahmed is a Nurse Practitioner at Women’s Health Services of Maryland, who partners closely with Dr. Mert Dinc. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Hampton University, in Hampton, VA. She earned a Master of Science Degree in Health Care Administration from University of Maryland University College in Adelphi, MD and a second Master of Science Degree in Nursing, specializing in Women’s Health and Gender Related Studies, from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.
Kia is a Board Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, earning this distinction through the National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties. She is a member of several professional organizations including Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing; and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has over 18 years of rich nursing experience, and she continuously pursues continuing education opportunities.
Her goal is to provide holistic, evidenced-based, quality health care to the individual and to their families. She is a strong patient advocate and a proponent of health promotion, disease prevention, and the continuum of care of the common and complex women’s health care needs. She encourages autonomy, wellness, and primary/secondary prevention. Kia aims to achieve this by providing her patients with the knowledge needed to empower them, and then by partnering with them to create an individualized plan of care.
